English grammar for kids: present continuous miming games

how to play

It is a game for 2 teams. The aim of this fun grammar game is for kids to guess present continuous sentences from mimes.

  • Divide the kids into two teams.
  • One team goes first and chooses a team member to do the first mime.
  • He or she comes to the front of the class, draws a task card, asks the class: What am I doing? and then does the mime on the card.
  • The other kids try to understand what he or she is doing, then answer by making a present continuous sentence, for example: You are climbing a tree.
  • The first kid to guess the sentence scores a point for their team. Then, a player from the other team comes to the front of the class and so on.
  • The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
